Tomato Hornworm

I have never dealt with the hornworm, which has invaded my potted tomato plants. How do I get rid of this large, ugly, green horned worm? Also, where did it come from?

Tomato hornworms are pests on tomatoes and some other Solanaceous vegetables like peppers and potatoes. Just pick them off the plants--unless they have webbing around them. That means that a parasitic wasp that attacks hornworms is taking care of them for you. Tomato hornworms are the caterpillars of the "Sphinx" or "Hawk" moth.
