onion maggots

what to use on onions and radishes when planting, to prevent onion maggots? wood ashes dont seem to work well

Thanks for writing. Onion maggots can be tough...first off, look for resistant varieties and practice crop rotation by planting these two plants in different parts of your vegetable garden each year and try planting a little later than usual to avoid the biggest populations of the insect.
