Need advice on treatment for mosaic leaves

What could be causing mosaic holes in the leaves of my hollyhocks and eggplants? What is the treatment? Please help!

Because you mention that both your hollyhocks and eggplants are affected similarly, i suspect that your plants are being attacked by flea beetles. These small black beetles are so named because they hop away when disturbed. They have a relatively short life cycle, so they may not even be present by the time that you notice their feeding damage. Usually the plants grow out of the damage with no permanent harm. However, if you feel that control is necessary, a broad spectrum insectide such as spinosad (a natural product) or Sevin (chemical insecticide) should control them.
