Carpenter Ants/Crape Myrtle Tree

i had carpenter ants eating my crape myrtle tree. i treated the ants but will the damage kill my tree?

Thanks for writing. The ants don't usually go after healthy trees, so I'd guess there's another problem and that's what attracted the ants. I'd contact an arborist in your area to come out and look at the tree.
