yellow fungus growth in soil

My split leaf philodendron has a strange yellow fungus (mushroom-like) growth in the soil around it. I took a picture of it in case you need it to diagnose. Do I dig the fungus out, replace the soil, or treat it?

The yellow fungus in potting soil could be a true fungus or a slime mold. In either case, it's growing there, feeding off decaying organic matter in the potting soil. It's not likely to harm the philodendron. My suggestion would be to skim off the yellow fungus as it appears. It may also help to keep the soil a bit drier to prevent it from coming back.
