What is the best way to transplant huge tree philodrendron?

I have a 30 year old tree Philodendron that has grown a thick trunk this year. I want to transplant it but don't want to injure it in the process. Do you have any suggestions on how to proceed?

Thanks for writing! The process isn't much different than transplanting any other plant --- the scale is just a little different. Start by getting it out of its pot. (If it's in an old plastic pot you don't care about, cut the pot off.) Then loosen the roots a bit and plant it in a larger container filled with potting mix. If the plant is especially large and heavy, you may need several people to help you.
