using self watering planters
I have self watering planters that have a resivore
to hold water in the bottom
if I put small gravel in my pots covered with mesh
then fill with potting soil will the plant roots still be able to pull the water up when needed?

Thanks for writing. Technically, your plants should be able to pull moisture up with the system you describe, but you'll need to be careful about the amount of water you use at any one time so that it doesn't rise above the gravel level and keep the soil saturated.
