Care of fiddle leaf fig

We were given a fiddle leaf fig plant and I do not know how to care for it. How much sunlight is required. Does it need to have any plant food after a certain length of time. The only thing the florist told me was not to repot it for 6 months and to not over water.

Fiddleleaf fig is a good low-maintenance houseplant. Do allow the soil to dry to the touch before watering again. It likes to be kept on the dry side. It can withstand fairly low light levels, but grows better in bright indirect light. It has only moderate fertility needs, so fertilize only during growth spurts (spring through early summer.)
