Maple tree leaves as garden mulch?

Doctors, Are Maple tree leaves good for garden mulch? We have huge Norway maples and piles of leaves!

Shredded maple leaves can make excellent garden mulch. If applied without shredding them first they can mat down and exclude oxygen from entering the root zone. You could also compost the leaves first and apply the resulting product, which is called leaf mold. It's extremely popular with British gardeners.
