How do I stop black spot?
Thanks for writing. Black spot is a very common disease --- so if you have roses, especially in the hot, humid South, you're likely to see it on your plants.
Make sure your roses are growing in full sun and have good air circulation...planting them too closely together can encourage disease. Pick up any fallen foliage as you see it --- that fallen foliage helps the disease spread. If you use a fungicide, be sure to do so BEFORE you see the disease; these products work best to prevent it; they do very little to treat the disease once gets going on your plants.
