help with planting roots of various plants

I recently planted some roots of several different plants i purchased at walmart. Any idea how they do and where i can find info on how they progress as far as timing and all? There are Daylilies, liatris, gladiolas, phlox, echinacea, clematis and geraniums. Any help would be great!!
