Ground cover needing low maintenance.

What is a ground cover that requires very little water? I need a ground cover under a bush near the edge of my property, so the only water it usually gets is rainfall.

Hi, Well it's hard to give specific planting advice on this question because I don't know how much light the planting area gets or what kind of shrub you are trying to plant under. Many shrubs have shallow root systems which makes planting under them difficult because the ground covers can't compete for moisture or nutrients. If you like, go to the Plant Encyclopedia on this website and do an Advanced Search, plugging in your criteria and it should give you a plant list. Now, I just can't guarantee any plant it suggests will survive in your spot since details are sketchy. By the way, one of my favorite ground covers for shady, dry locations is epimedium.
