ants on cut peonies

I know that peony blooms will attract ants. How to I get rid of them in order to bring cut blooms into the house?

When I cut peonies for indoor arrangements, I try to inspect the flowers for any ants that might be on them. If I find some, I flick them off the bloom, either with my fingers or by gently shaking the flower. You could also use a forceful spray of water to wash the ants off the blooms.
