Planting & how to care for strawberries

I am trying to find out if I can plant my strawberry plants in the ground in TN. I have them in containers at this time. They have multiplied so much, that I wanted to plant them in the ground. I live in zone 7a. Will they survive the winters up here? We just moved to this state. I also would like to know if they will grow in partial shade.

Strawberries are definitely hardy in Tennessee. They will grow in the ground through Zone 3 (northern Minnesota). You'll find best production of strawberries in full sun, but they'll grow in partial shade, producing fewer berries if they don't receive full sun.
