gardening how to
Hi, Strawberries are pretty easy. Buy plants in the early spring and plant them in a sunny spot, spacing the plants about 10 inches apart. Mulch them to prevent weeds from coming up between the plants. Or, you can spread black plastic over the soil before you plant and then make slits in the plastic for the baby strawberries. This way, you'll never have to weed. Strawberries come in two basic types: everbearers and June-bearers. For the most fruit, plant some of each type. Keep the plants slightly moist and that's about all you need to do. Overtime, your plants will develop runners with baby plants on the ends. You can root these nearby or in other beds.
