Figs not ripening
Is this a newly planted fig? Shoots that develop in spring and produce flower buds along their upper stems may produce fruit in late fall, if they have been kept watered carefully all summer. Flower buds lower down on the stem will overwinter and result in fruit next year. Fruit is carried on young wood, so it's important to keep new growth coming. Be patient if the tree is looking healthy with big leaves.
