bartlett pear tree

my bartlettpear tree only produced pears on one side why??.also when do i pick them

Thanks for writing! Without more information, I can't say why your pear didn't produce fruit evenly, but I can make a guess: Was there a frost about the time the plant was in bloom? It's possible that because of the way the tree was sited, one side of the tree had some frost damage --- which could keep the flowers from developing into fruits --- whereas the other side of the tree was more protected and thus unaffected. ---Justin, Senior Garden Editor, BHG.com
