Want to save geraniums in zone 4
Hi, Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. Our Garden Doctor service was down for a month or more. it sounds like you already have been successful saving your geraniums. Some folks like to hang them upside down in a basement in a paper bag, but it's pretty iffy that way for survival. The best way is to take cuttings in August, root them and keep those plants overwinter in a sunny window. Keeping old plants is also a way to overwinter diseases. I prefer fresh plants from fresh cuttings that I know will survive window culture.
