Hibiscus attacked by small flies now no leaves
I suspect that the small flies you saw were fungus gnats. These adults don't cause damage to the plant, but their larvae live in the soil and can feed on the roots, causing damage to the plant. It's often an indication that the soil is being kept too moist.
If your hibiscus hasn't resprouted by now, it likely is dead, and should be discarded.
