Yellowing aloe vera plant

I recently acquired an aloe vera plant from a neighbor. It has recently gone from a beautiful deep green color to a pale yellow. It is kept in full sun and watered every other day. Is that too often? As I am new to plants in general, please give me an idea as to what I may be doing wrong. Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for writing. Aloe is a succulent plant from hot, dry areas --- so the plant prefers to be too dry rather than too wet. So it sounds like you may be watering too much. You can get away with watering it once every two or even three weeks, depending on the size of the plant, the size of the pot, how much sun it gets, and other factors.
