Wind-resistant plants

I would like advice on plants that would be good for my VERY windy location. Top of hill. Farm house. Full sun. I already have sunflower, purple cone flower, aster, golden rod, false dragon head, goose neck loosestrife, tickseed coreposis, bee balm, and geranium. I have several open areas that I would like to fill with something low growing (up to 2 feet) that would withstand high winds.

Santolina is a good choice, as are many natural grasses like Achnatherum calamagrostis and Calamagrostis x 'Overdam,' although the grasses can grow three to four feet high. A shorter grass is Nassella tenuissima--it sways beautifully in the wind. Yarrow (Achillea sp.) will look wonderful and will withstand the wind, and it comes in many colors. Have you planted a windbreak? There are many trees, like Hedge maple (Acer campestre) and Incense cedar (Calocedrus decurrens) that will grow well in your area.
