Fruit tree leaves

I Have pruned my fruit trees and I use the leaves to make compost,on the leaves there was the leave miner,so if I leave them with the other leaves to make conpost do you think it is good or bad, do you think that the conpost will be dameged. await your answer, Regards John

Thanks for writing. If your compost heated up properly as the leaves decomposed, it should kill most insect eggs or larvae and weed seeds.

For leaf miners in particular, you should be safe as the larvae overwinter in the soil, not in the foliage. And many leaf miner species prefer to mine a certain plant --- so if they bothered your apple trees, for example, that same species will ignore delphiniums or daisies.
