Dying lavender

Planted lavender 5 months ago, and it is dying. parts of the plant begin to turn light green, then brown, and seem to wilt away one branch at a time. Water daily, food once a week, live in west Texas, What am I doing wrong?

Lavender is extremely drought tolerant, and does not like wet soil. If you're watering every day it may be developing root rot. It should not need watering more than once or twice per week at the most.
