Reblooming annuals

I have Lavender Star Verbena with petunia growing in my flower boxes on my deck.The verbena do no seem to rebloom, I pinched off the whithered blooms so why are they not coming back?

Hi, Well your verbena should bloom right up until frost as long as it's getting enough sunlight (at least 6 hours a day). Also, be patient, if the first crop of flowers has faded it may take a bit for it to start up again, especially if you just planted it. The plants could be establishing a root system before they get going.
