no more flowers!

Hi. My cosmos were doing beautifully - I would dead head and they kept blooming. But now the buds seem to die before they flower, so I have plants with lots of buds but very few flowers. Help! What is happening?

It's hard to know what's happening, but cosmos do have a tendency to go through a ""down"" time in late summer. I'd keep deadheading them and they may come back. Sometimes, though, cosmos does just stop blooming by late summer and die.
