Million bells don't make it
Million bells (Calibracoa species) prefer full sun, but will tolerate shade during part of the day. They are happiest in moist, well-drained soil, but they tolerate drying out between waterings. Their water and fertilizer requirements are like most annuals; water container plants once or twice a week and then daily during the hottest summer weather when it's baking outside. Fertilize with a water-soluble fertilizer at half-strength every other week. Million bells don't face any common diseases or insect pests. As long as your million bells got water when they needed it and their basket had drainage holes, there's no easy explanation for their deaths.
