Can you recommend easy-care flowers to plant?

My mother-in-law wants me to redo her front-yard flower bed. But she is notorious for killing plants. She doesn't like to water them and keep up with their care. Can you recommend plants for me to grow for her?

You could plant annuals; they're less expensive up front and will die at the end of the season anyway. If you find that your mother-in-law can grow some annuals well, look at selecting perennials with similar growing conditions in the future. Easy-care annuals for sun include marigold (Tagetes), zinnia (Zinnia), salvia (Salvia), and petunia (Petunia x hybrida). If you want to try perennials, some reliable choices include purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea), sedum (Sedum; Hylotelephium), black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia), catmint (Nepeta), daylily (Hemerocallis), peony (Paeonia), Russian sage (Perovskia atriplicifolia), and coreopsis (Coreopsis).
