How to protect Hostas from deer attack?

I have never had an issue before however this year several very large hostsas were eaten by what I am told are deers favorite food? Other than spraying with wolf urine what can I do including planting other varieties to ward off their destructive behavior?

Thanks for writing. I'm afraid the only sure way to keep deer out of your yard is to put up an 8-foot-tall fence.

Some gardeners have found success with repellent sprays such as Deer-Stopper, Deer-Off, Deer-Away, Plantskydd,  --- but not every spray works for every gardener, so it may take some trial and error.

Otherwise, you can plant varieties they typically don't eat. Check out a list of deer-resistant plants for your area:
