Deer Resistant Shrubs

What shrubs will grow in the Salt Lake City, Utah, area and also be deer resistant? Are there any annual flowers that deer won't eat?

Hungry deer will eat almost anything during a drought or a severe winter, but here are a few plants that are somewhat deer resistant. Perennials include Astilbe, Bugleweed (Ajuga reptans), Butterfly bush (Buddleia davidii), Cardinal flower (Lobelia cardinalis), Delphinium, Foxglove, Lenten rose (Helleborus orientalis), Lungwort (Pulmonaria cvs.), Lupine, Rusian sage (Perovskia cvs.) and daffodils.
Shrubs and trees, including evergreens, are:
American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis)
Bald cypress (Taxodium distichum)
Barberry (Berberis spp.)
Boxwood (Buxus spp.)
Catawba rhododenron
Dawn redwood
European beech (Fagus sylvatica)
Flowering dogwood
Japanese kerria
Japanese pieris
Oregon grapeholly (Mahonia aquifolium)
Scotch broom
White, Norway and Colorado spruces (Picea spp.)
As for annuals, some people say they have luck with marigolds, but I think deer would eat most annuals.
