bugs and snails are eating my plants.

how can I control the snails and worms that are eating my plants? I use sevin dust and snail bait but they still eat my plants. I have a large yard and can't seem to get a handle on it.

Hi, Well snails and slugs can be a big problem, especially in the spring when the weather is cool and moist. Sevin won't have any effect on these creatures so don't bother with it. Snail bait is generally the best course of action, but you have to make sure to use it correctly. Also, remove any flat logs, stones or wood these creatures can hide under. You can also try sinking a shallow pan of stale beer in the garden in various locations. These animals are drawn to the smell of the yeast, then fall in and drown.
