What is yellow flour?

What is yellow flour (not cornmeal)? I am trying to make a puffy fried batter.

Masa harina is a flour made from hominy and is used for making corn tortillas and tamales. Look for it in larger supermarkets or in Hispanic markets.

Semolina flour which is used for making dry pasta is considered a yellow flour, it's made from duram wheat, the other type of yellow flour is masa harina which is fine ground corn. FontMesa
