What kinds of cookie dough can I use to make bars?

I know you can use chocolate chip cookie dough to make bars instead of individual cookies. I like the way this saves time. Does it work with other kinds of cookie dough, too?

Most drop cookies can be made into bars. Generally a cookie recipe that yields 36 to 42 cookies will make perfect bars when baked in a 13x9-inch pan. Bake bars at the same temperature as cookies, but increase baking time, usually to about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center of the bars tells you the bars are done.
