How can I keep my blueberry muffin batter from turning blue?

Keeping blueberries’ deep natural color from bleeding into your snowy-white muffin batter can be a real challenge. But these tips will help:

• Wait to add berries until after your batter is fully mixed. Adding them earlier will
give you that tie-dye look.

• Dust fresh blueberries with a tablespoon or so of flour before adding them to the
batter, then fold them in as gently as you can, using as few strokes as possible.

• If using frozen blueberries, remove them from the freezer at the last minute, then
dust with flour and fold gently just as you would for fresh berries.
