teak furniture upkeep

I bought teak patio furniture about 18 month ago. We have stained it with the appropriate stain several times. Howevber, it fades and get water spots on it. Is there a permanent solution to keep it nice looking? I would like to keep it a light brown and to last at least the season. Thank you.

Justin Hancock, our outdoor living/garden guru at, recommends oiling your teak every year instead of staining. If you’ve stained, you’ll either want to sand the stain off or leave the teak for a year or so for the stain to disintegrate (most stains are not long lasting). Then apply teak oil once a year and your furniture will look like new.
