How do I cut angles for crown molding?

I have a question about crown molding, I hope you can help. Our saw only cuts a 45 degree angle on the right side, we can't get a 45 degree angle when we swing the blade to the other side. Is it possible to cut corners for molding by flipping the wood some how? I think we have tried everything, but I'm hoping you can suggest something. Thank you.

There is a helpful guide to cutting crown molding that even has measurements for keeping it flat on the base of your saw.  If you check out the web site for Fine Homebuilding you should be able to get what you are looking for. Another option: Rent a saw big enough and adjustable enough to make the cuts you need.  I have usually done the latter myself since math is not always my favorite task.
