Can you cut ceramic tiles in half?

Is it OK to cut ceramic tile to be used on a bathroom floor and shower walls? The tile is 12x24 and would be cut in half to 12x12. Thanks

Yes, ceramic tile can be cut very easily. There are two types of cutters you can rent from any hardware store. One scores the tile with a hardened point and the tile is broken, like cutting glass. The other uses a rotating saw blade and cuts the tile completely through. You should look at both types and find the one you feel most comfortable with.
